Thank you Mom

Boy am I feeling some major regret today...Brown Sugared Ham, 3 cupcakes, Reese's Peanut Butter eggs, skittles out the ying-yang, sliver of cheesecake, baked beans, a hamburger...Yep that was easter over at Mother-in-Law's yesterday. Sean and I have been eating healthy and working out for 5 weeks today. We splurged. I talked myself into it along with Sean. I told him that we have been doing wonderfully for well over a month now...and I was going to have a cupcake or two...What if we got into a car crash on the way home, and I hadn't had one? Life is too short. That is what I told myself yesterday while I was stuffing myself. Today is a different story. Today I refuse to put a morsel of food in my mouth. I am guilt-ridden. But then I remind myself that life is too short...so the cycle begins.

My mom came down last night - she had an eye appointment today. So nice spending time with her. Felt bad that I had no sweet tea made for her. - that and the fact that she had to sleep on the couch because we haven't brought Jude's full sized bed in the house from the storage shed. (the inflatable fire truck took its last breath the other day) I painted her toenails for her while she played spider solitaire. I wish I was a perfect daughter. If that woman knew what my heart contained for her...

thank you mom-
for not making me feel like a failure when everyone else did

thank you mom -
for dropping your life to move to england with me.

thank you mom -
for helping me raise Julian

thank you mom-
for always being on my side

thank you mom-
for loving my boys with every shred of DNA you have in you

thank you mom-
for helping me with the boys for nothing but gas money-when i had to go back to work

thank you mom-
for letting me go even though it was the hardest thing you have ever had to do

thank you mom-
for making me the woman I am today.

I strive to show you what my heart feels inside for you. Before anyone there was you. And for that I am eternally grateful.
